Throughout my career, one THING was always constant: my passion to produce work that BETTERS THE WORLD WE LIVE IN.
My current career goals in UX and product design are to learn from others in a team-based environment, while continuing to level up my skills in such a way that allows me to contribute as a thinker and doer. My academic background in science and humanities came to be very formative in my passion for design, technology, and problem-solving.
Because of my experience in nonprofit and small business, my wish is to branch out to gain more experience in software systems for enterprise.
My long-term career goals involve enriching my knowledge in human-computer interaction, and using my skills to be part of an innovating collective that seeks to better our world.
Every project I’ve ever taken on was a design challenge in itself, GUISING real-LIFE problems that people EXPERIENCE EVERY DAY in their pursuit TO fulfilL A mission, whether it’s a business or nonprofit.
A brief history
1998
🌎 Used the Internet for the very first time. My favorite things to do: trying out new applications (AIM, MSN Messenger, the entire Microsoft Suite, etc) and learning how to design web pages using Yahoo! GeoCities and later, HTML on various blogging platforms
2014
👩🏻🎓 Graduated from the University of California, Irvine in Public Health Sciences (B.S.) and Asian American Studies (B.A.), and dentistry-bound📚 Took some life-altering courses in Human Computer Interaction, project management, and software engineering during my last year of college; I was interested in pursuing computer science after graduation👩🏻🎨 Began working as a graphic designer at a creative marketing firm (dtn.tech)
2016
👩🏻💻 Transitioned into working as a full-time freelancer in graphic design and web design!🏠 Hit my 10-year anniversary of volunteering for community youth nonprofit org (UVSA) where I've served as camp director, marketing director, IT & social media coordinator, and more
2017
🌱 Continued to build and grow my client base, which spanned industries such as government, restaurants, food science, music & dance, medical devices, tech start-ups, and beauty/skin care. Quickly learning about small business management🎉 Ended my last year at UVSA by serving as director of the nation's largest Lunar New Year festival at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, CA
